Then you will understand every good path...

Dear Beloveds, Recently I have been feeling really apprehensive about adoption and Uganda, specifically.  It's been really challenging to know what steps to take to ensure the safety and best possible circumstance for you, beautiful ones!  Sadly, there is much corruption happening in Uganda (and other countries, too) involving international adoption.  I'm hearing of situations where children are taken from parents because of poverty and basically sold to orphanages so that people might unknowingly adopt a child who does not necessarily need to be adopted.  This scares me so much.  The LAST thing we want to do is take a child away from a family.  Our hopes are not for that at all.  Our hopes are that we could bring you two into our home...two that truly need a family.  We don't want to swoop in and say "because we're American, we can provide a better life for these children".  Our intention is to be mom and dad to two children who otherwise would not have a family.  We are praying.  We are asking God to direct our steps, to protect you, and to guide us to you. This morning as we prayed for you, we opened the Bible and this is what we turned to;

"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.

For wisdom will enter your heart,

and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you".

-Proverbs 2: 1-11

God is so good to our hearts.  This was EXACTLY what I needed to hear today. And I'm so grateful for the way He directs even the simplest things sometimes to give us what we need to keep trusting. To keep walking in faith and believing that His Good is better than anything we could imagine. Today I'm so thrilled to say that already, we have $3572.50 towards bringing you home!!  We sent out our support letters less than a month ago and we are so humbled and grateful (I know, I've been using these words a lot!!) that people are generously giving so YOU can be here with us someday.  What a gift!! THANK YOU, friends and family!!! Beloveds, WE CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU.
